How long should I wait after CO2 Laser to have a Deep Plane Facelift?
Wait until skin recovery to undergo a facelift–usually after a month.
Nov 8, 2023
It is best to wait until you have healed completely from the laser treatment (usually after one month) to have any surgery to the face. If performed too early, it would be dangerous to have a surgical face lift immediately after a CO2 laser treatment as this would compromise the healing of your incisions. Once the skin has recovered sufficiently, you will be able to undergo a facelift without issue.
Will a facelift work to address jowls, double chin and volume loss?
To address sagging, jowling and volume think: Facelift/Necklift plus Fat Transfer
Oct 24, 2023
A facelift will address sagging cheeks and jowling by bringing the deep tissues back into position after years of gravity and aging. A double chin may be addressed by a necklift that lifts and tightens the deep tissues and removes unwanted fat. Volume loss in the midface (cheek area) can be addressed with fat transfer. Undereye aging will likely need a lower eye lift.
Will the eye shape be changed with a Midface lift (MFL) performed from incision under the
Eye shape may change with this approach
Oct 10, 2023
The midface lift approach is a good option for those who have simple descent of the midface and in particular the malar fat pad. When skin resection is necessary, this may need to be carried to the undereye. When this is done, it may alter the appearance of the lower lid (however, perhaps not in a bad way). I would look at before and afters from your surgeon to get a sense of what is achievable with this technique.
Do they use threads in face lifts?
Thread Lift is not a Facelift
Oct 10, 2023
A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that involves placing barbed sutures under the skin and pulling the skin back to tighten over the barbs. While this may be marketed as a painless and noninvasive approach toward facial rejuvenation by nonsurgical practitioners, it is not the same as a facelift and may interfere with the ability to perform a future facelift effectively. A facelift is a surgical procedure where the skin and deep tissues are raised and resuspended into a more…
Facelift with sutures or with no sutures? Please help
Different Surgeon Different Techniques
Oct 10, 2023
Simply put, each surgeon’s technique varies based on their own experience and preferences and my use either permanent sutures or dissolvable sutures. Generally speaking, surgeons who use permanent sutures believe that these sutures provide a lasting “lift” by securing the tightened tissue in place permanently. Dissolvable sutures would begin to degrade over time and rely on the body’s ability to hold the lift in place with scar tissue. There are, of course, pros and cons of each technique…
