Treatment for Facial Chicken Pox Scars?
Laser Treatments for Chicken Pox Scarring
Feb 19, 2015
Many different types of scarring can occur from chicken pox and acne. So the surgical or laser approach may vary depending on the nature of the scar. In general, fractionated laser resurfacing does a nice job improving scarring over a series of treatments. Keep in mind, however, lasers are not erasers.
Does topical numbing cream prevent a Vbeam treatment from working?
Vbeam and the use of topical numbing
Feb 19, 2015
Some numbing creams lead to constriction of the blood vessels on the face, the very target of the Vbeam laster, and hence may reduce the efficacy of a Vbeam laser treatment. Numbing creams, however, do not prevent a Vbeam laser treatment from being effective. In fact, some patients may get a better result with a numbing cream as they are more comfortable during the treatment and this permits the use of stronger, more effective settings that might not otherwise be tolerated by the patient.

Having MOHs surgery on tip of my nose. Should I wait a week to have a skin graft done or do it the
Skin Graft following a MOHS procedure.
Feb 19, 2015
I usually repair mohs defects the same day. Waiting a week could increase the risk of infection or bleeding complications and hence is not ideal. Sometimes for deeper defects, graft placement is delayed for a week or more to allow granulation tissue to form and partially fill the defect before placing a skin graft.
