Answer Snippet
Do Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Create a Tightening Effect on Facial Skin?
Increase collagen
Oct 18, 2011
They can fill in defects depending on what is used and who the injector is. Make sure you get someone with lots of experience. CO2 laser is the ultimate for this. Depending on how much money you are willing to spend….. Whatever you do, a retinoid applied at night should be part of any skin care for the face! We sell Renova in our office.
Does Position Matter For Botox Injection?
Position for Botox
Jul 15, 2011
We were always taught to have patients sitting up. Even if you hit a vein, this should not be a big issue. All I can say, is go to a professional!!
More Juvederm?
More juvaderm
Jul 13, 2011
Making your lips look better could mean more. I have learned that simply filling volume loss in the lower face (with Radiesse for example) can bring out the lips and soften their look without even touching the lips. If there is "volume loss" around the lip area a small amount of Radiesse (placed very carefully) around the area can smooth out deep wrinkles greatly. Then more Juvaderm can be used to fill in some of the more superficial lines. Make sure you go to someone with lots of…
Does Mole Removal by Electrocautery Cause Bad Scarring?
Only for Derm
Jul 12, 2011
Always let a Dermatologist evaluate the lesion. Hopefully there will laws enforced. In some states, they are cracking down on this. There is no way anyone other than a dermatologist can evaluate this lesion. Have a dermatologist evaluate the lesion. Then have them remove it. I tiny incision with 1 suture should take care of it with minimal scarring. Absolutely DO NOT let someone removed it with cautery!
Is There Any Effect if You Only Wear the Bandage/ Stockings Two Days After the Session?
Wear stockings after sclero
Jun 19, 2011
I will not do Sclero unless my patients agree to wear these! I have seen MUCH better results and less side effects when my patients wear the bandages for 2-3 days followed by good support hose (during the day) for 4-6 weeks.
Most Efficient Procedure Available to Treat Varicose Veins?
Treatment of leg veins
Jun 18, 2011
If they are large–see a vascular surgeon. Do not go to one of these "vein clinics" on the side of the road. For superficial veins, I love sclerotherapy MUCH better than laser. It takes longer and less money on physician part, but I believe this works much better! You also have to play an active part in the process. I am very good at doing what I do, but I HIGHLY recommend patients invest in GOOD support hose to wear 3-4 weeks after the procedure.
Post-op Care for Yag Laser
Post-Laser Care
Jun 18, 2011
Your Doctor was right– the MOST important thing after any procedure is good sun avoidance and sunscreen SPF 30 or greater every 2 hours when in the sun. The sun can actually re-pigment that area and take it longer to heal. Wash very gently (no scrubbing or wash cloths). We like Cereve vs Cetaphil gentle face cleansers. Aquaphor is great. Biafine (need script) is also great for fast healing.
