There has been alot in recent literature regarding capsular contracture and its possible causation from subclinical infection. For this reason, we take measures intraoperatively to ensure that implants are placed in as sterile manner as possible with perioperative antibiotics, antibiotic solutions in the pockets and no-touch techniques.

It really is too early to make any assesments as to whether enough tissue was removed or not – as you have alluded to, it is very, very common to have a lot of post-operative swelling and bruising after abdominal liposuction and lipectomy. It may be a good couple of months before you start seeing good results.
You may also be bloated if your bowels have not returned to normal functioning.
Just give things time – be patient and I am sure you will be happy…

Hi Jessica,
Thanks for sharing – your scars look pretty standard for three weeks down the track. It can take scars up to 12 months to fully mature and you will find that with every passing week, those scars settle down.
I usually have my patients keep tape on their incision lines for a few weeks before then commencing scar massage.
You should see your PS to enquire about how they want you to manage your scars going forward.

Nipple areola malposition following breast reduction can usually be rectified with revisionary surgery – with that said however, it is usually easier to elevate a nipple that is too low on the breast rather than move a nipple down that is sitting too high.
Part of the problem is usually that the distance between the bottom of the areola and the inferior breast fold is relatively long and the position of the nipple can be improved by reducing this distance – usually…

Breast reconstruction is very rarely a single stage operation that is able to get you to where you want to be in one go! If you consider tissue expander reconstruction, you are looking at at least two operations and then a third if you consider nipple reconstruction.
The good news is that you have several straightforward options to improve on what is otherwise a pretty symmetrical reconstruction.
Fat grafting alone will not improve the overall…

Your breast reconstruction appearance is not an uncommon one following radiotherapy to one side – the radiation always causes a tighter, smaller reconstruction and the skin is usually a little more resistant to being stretched by the expander.
I do not think that going bigger is going to be a straightforward undertaking. One option would be several series of fat grafting sessions to try and increase the size and improve the shape of the right breast…
