How often and how deep would I have to do Skinpen microneedling?

Hi,Microneedling to treat acne scars would require 4-6 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart.  The depth can be up to 2.5mm.  However, varying depths may be needed depending on your response and area of face.  I would actually also recommend chemical peels which are typically more economical than lasers/microneedling to help treat these acne scars, a daily skincare regimen with products that contain anti-oxidants, retinol, or glycolic acid. Best,Dr. Huo
How long after microneedling treatment (.5mm) can I use *chemical* sunscreen?

Hi, I do not recommend putting on sunscreen for the first 24 hours after microneedling.  Wear a hat, and avoid the sun.  Use what is directed.  After the 24 hours, I’d recommend mineral sunscreen (Avene makes a great one that’s reasonably priced).  After 3 days, you can go back to using your chemical sunscreen.Best,Dr. Huo
Can I do Thermalift after PicoSure laser facial?

Hi,I actually sometimes combine both procedures (Thermage/thermismooth and Pico) in one appointment.  I would do the RF thermi procedure first, wait about 45 minutes (perfect time to apply numbing cream in preparation for the PicoSure laser) then perform PicoSure.  Now, if you’ve already had PicoSure laser, I’d recommend waiting for about 2 weeks before Thermalift.  Of course, you should discuss with the medical provider with whom you’ll be undergoing treatment.  Best,Dr. Huo

Hi,Vampire facial IS microneedling with PRP.  Depending on the depths set on the microneedling pen and how may passes an area is treated, results can vary.  Usually deeper settings can be done by an MD and shallower if done by estheticians.  Deeper the needles penetrate, the more likely you will have noticeable results although down time is a bit longer.  You need to find the right provider and ask questions like ‘how deep are your setting the mirconeedling pen?’ and ‘how many passes do you …

HI,You can have thermiva after vulvar surgery, however, I’d wait until 3 months has elapsed.  There’s currently no recommendation/evidence that ThermiVa will help to dissolve/resolve scar tissue. If you have vulvar pain, please see a vulva specialist to figure out the etiology before you spend a lot of time, energy and money trying out various procedures.Best,Dr. Huo
