This is a great question and the answer depends on a number of factors.
Implant based reconstruction can either be tissue expander at the time of mastectomy followed by implant placement at a second operation, or “direct-to-implant” placement at the time of mastectomy. Thank you for your interesting question. While the transplanted kidney is generally speaking, in the lower abdomen area, it is not in the subcutaneous tissue of the abdominal wall. Typically the kidney is placed in the retroperitoneal space adjacent to the iliac vessels. You should seek out a board certified plastic surgeon who would be able to examine you and review a CT scan if needed to confirm location of the kidney and rule out any hernias prior to liposuction.
