Hello! You should be fine. Bring plenty of portable ice packs, the ones that can be activated at the moment you use them. Also make sure you have and take a good NSAID like Motrin. There are plenty of good Gyne’s in your area (I grew up in LaCanada Flintridge btw) that perform both procedures if you prefer to stay local.

Your age, how long this has been occurring, what has been done in the past to treat it, as well as a recent examination with possible cultures and biopsies will help determine what is causing your inflammation. To answer your question, there is not an upper age limit for treatment with the MonaLisa Touch. I have treated women in there late 70's and early 80's with Lichen Sclerosis and VVS (vulvar vaginal atrophy) using the laser with great success.

Shaylea, 18 months of topical estrogen treatment is great, but not necessary prior to treatment with the MonaLisa Touch. You are more than prepared to begin therapy. Dilation prior to therapy is also not necessary, but if your vagina was very narrowed due to atrophy and/or structures the progressive dilation should make it more comfortable for you.
