Red bumps after pico genesis laser!?
This is pretty common
Oct 29, 2017
We have seen this in about 15% of our patients. It responds very quickly and well to low dose topical steroids (the kind you can but without a prescription at the drug store labelled Cortisone). I recommend treatment as soon as it happens as some patients who are very sensitive to pigmentation may start to see some come back if they do not treat the outbreak. Luckily there have been no long term or adverse effects once you treat it and it usually goes away in a few days….
Is the Enlighten Pico and Nano Genesis laser for dark spots better then the other lasers?
Enlighten Laser for brown spots
Aug 25, 2017
The Cutera Enlighten laser gives the physician the widest range of options and power to treat any brown spot on the skin. That said, not all brown spots are alike and it takes a skilled experienced laser physician to evaluate your areas to see why they have not responded in the past. So the problem could be that your spots may be more resistant to treatment, or that the device that was used was either not the best, or was not utilized to get the most results. The device+…
Hair Damage After Eyebrow Tattoo Removal?
Very tricky to do this
Jun 9, 2013
The Q switched Nd:YAG laser targets pigment- both in your tattoo and in the melanin in your hair shaft. Most hair that is not white or very blond with absorb some. I have definitely seen permanent hair loss in treating a tattoo in a hair bearing area (on the leg). I would proceed only with great caution to treat someone’s eyebrow tattoo as there CAN be permanent thinning and/or loss of hair. Although typically the hair does grow back with Nd:YAG laser sometimes it can…
4 Days Post Dermal Filler and Still Distinct Swelling in Smile Lines and Acne Scars- Done by Board Ce
Visible
Feb 9, 2013
Hi there-

I don’t think there is any need to worry-yet. Often times fillers can cause a bit of swelling right after injection (within the first 2 weeks) that will resolve on its own. Hopefully you were injected with one of the hyaluronic acid fillers- Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero- which can easily be reduced or dissolved if this persists. Be careful about asking for this too early as it might take away the results that you were looking for. And lastly…

Will This Tattoo Ever Go Away?
Difficult tattoos
Feb 9, 2013
Hi Mariab20-

Some tattoos are proving very hard to remove. It looks like part of your tattoo responded to the treatments that you have had. The “outline” my contain other colors mixed together which may need several different wavelengths to remove- do you know if this has been done? Also we are getting some good responses to using fractional CO2 lasers as part of our treatments for tattoos and this may help you as well.

How Long Does Microswelling Generally Last After a Lux 1540?
Post op treatment with the 1540
Oct 8, 2012
Usually the treatment produces about a week of mild downtime consisting initially of swelling and redness for a few days and then some rough “sandpapery” feeling for a few days as the time laser columns heal. The best results are seen a few weeks later. I recommend at least 3 treatments about a month apart. However many patients opt to continue their treatments on a maintenance basis.
Will Photofacials Make Dark Spots Worse Before They Get Better?
Trust what you see
Sep 24, 2012
The Visia is a tool to show patients their skin damage. But what really matters is what you see. If you feel that your skin is improving with the treatments then by all means continue them. However if what the VISIA tells you is correlating with what you see- meaning if you feel you LOOK worse then do not continue. There really is no such thing as “bringing your sun damage to the surface” that I have ever heard of. Either you look better or you don’t. After all-…
