Statement: Dr. Steve Matta, DO, MBA, CAQSM, is a master physician, licensed and dually board-certified in Primary Care and Non-Surgical Orthopedics. At Meeting Point Health, serving area residents in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he specializes in anti-aging, orthopedic pain conditions, regenerative aesthetics and functional medicine. Using cutting-edge holistic therapies, Dr. Matta also incorporates ultrasound-guided regenerative injections, osteopathic manipulation, medical acupuncture, neurofunctional movement, IV nutrient therapy, and ozone therapy.

Dr. Matta is one of those doctors that enjoys a good puzzle, breaking things down diagnostically with such detail that it takes a minimum of an hour on your first visit. He looks at medicine as both a science and an art. Everybody is different and he treats each patient like a puzzle.

Because his approach to medicine is both integrative and holistic, it means he does not give any steroid or cortisone injections and does not prescribe narcotic pain medications. Instead, he relies on the information from your in-depth physical examination and story to figure out what the pathology is, whether it be musculoskeletal, neural, hormonal, or pathogenic.

Dr. Matta loves to educate his patients. In addition to a thorough orthopedic assessment, he will spend time with you discussing lab work, nutrition, sleep, supplementation, corrective exercise, meditation, and more to make sure that there is nothing impeding progress. He is also a Fellow of the SSRP (Seeds Scientific Research and Performance Institute).

Answer Snippet
Morpheus8 or tummy tuck?
Morpheus for abdomen
Dec 13, 2023
Yes! Absolutely, Morpheus will work for tightening the skin. For more severe cases, alternating Morpheus treatments with Sculptra to build collagen works very well. I prefer to take a holistic approach and make sure the Diastasis Recti and pelvic floor muscles post-childbirth are healthy and strong to maintain tone.
Treatments I’d consider:- Morpheus- Sculptra- PRP in the Diastasis Recti - Pelvic Floor corrective exercises - Acupuncture over the rectus abdominis
Hope that helps!
Do I need more Sculptra or filler?
More Sculptra for around the mouth
Dec 13, 2023
Good question. I believe if you want a more regenerative lasting approach, you want to use a combination of Sculptra, PRP and Morpheus RF microneedling to tighten, replenish and rehydrate the skin globally. Filler will have an immediate result but will not address the root causes of sagging and general aging. Filler may also produce a puffiness around the lip that you won’t like. You have a beautiful face and need a provider who will give you a global treatment to get the result you are l...
Would Botox (or something else) help reduce the look of my chin? Chin ptosis?
Botox for the Chin
Dec 6, 2023
While some providers may do Botox for the chin area, we prefer doing regenerative treatments for the area such as Morpheus microneedling with PRP and Sculptra. This will help with much longer lasting collagen deposition in the area and smooth out the appearance under the chin.
Is Sculptra safe for Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?
Sculptra and Ehlers Danlos
Dec 6, 2023
Sculptra is made of PLLA which is typically made from fermented plant starch such as from corn, cassava, sugarcane or sugar beet pulp. PLLA is also used to make sutures because of its ability to dissolve over time and stimulate healthy soft tissue regeneration, especially collagen. There are no studies on the safety or efficacy of Sculptra in Ehlers Danlos patients, but based on how Sculptra works and the weak collagen production known to occur in EDS, you may get a response ranging from not...
