Oh dear it must have been a very tough week for you. It is very important that you keep in regular contact with your surgeon as this unfolds. The problem here is that after the surgery there was not enough venous drainage from your nipple and areola. In other words blood was getting in via the arteries but not out via the veins. This makes the nipple look "blue". As this continues the pressure in the veins rises and eventually the blood can't flow in anymore either...
