I only use absorbabble sutures for closure. No metal. I would see an allergy specialist to make sure exactly what type of metal you are allergic to just in case, for future surgeries (orthopedic surgery, etc.). It will be halpful for type for clothes as well :)(i.e.brass/nickel buttons, zippers etc.)
