Do I need two different size implants?
Breast augmentation sizing
Mar 26, 2021
Dear Kind91261,
Sizing and selection of breast implants is highly patient specific. Based on the picture, there is not a significant size discrepancy between both the breasts and I agree with the plastic surgeon that asymmetric implants may not be needed in your situation, and may actually cause asymmetry. Good luck!
Will a doctor be more hesitant to do a tummy tuck for me if I have a scar from a previous abdomin
Tummy tuck incisions
Mar 26, 2021
Dear OliviaLennon,
The removal of teratoma likely may involve laparoscopic incisions with a larger lower midline abdominal incision to remove the tumor out of the abdomen. Alternatively, it could involve an incision horizontally in the lower midline abdomen like a Caesarian section. Regardless, a future tummy tuck will not be affected by the incision choice and will be able to incorporate and remove a lower midline horizontal scar as well to allow an aesthetically appealing scar in the…
Looking to get a breast reduction. Is there a maximum weight for this surgery?
Breast reduction and ideal body weight
Mar 14, 2021
Dear Sensible783286,
It would be a good idea to calculate your BMI (Weight/height squared). Every plastic surgeon has his or her own criteria of BMI for proceeding with a breast reduction. Many studies have shown decreased wound healing and blood supply related complications with a BMI less than 35. If you have a planned weight loss prior to surgery, you are likely to have a better aesthetic result, since any skin redundancy from weight loss can be addressed at the time of the reduction in…
I really want to go as small as possible, possible a full B cup. Do you think that will make me l
Breast reduction volume and aesthetics
Mar 14, 2021
Dear Courageous237268,
While cup sizes are different across different stores and may be subjective, a B cup may be more aggressive reduction for your body frame. There is a fine line between retaining enough breast tissue to allow adequate blood supply to heal the breast flaps as well as the nipple. There should also be enough breast tissue to allow a nice curvature and aesthetics proportional to your frame. I believe a C cup would be more reasonable and aesthetically more sound while…
I’m getting a reduction and I have nipple piercings. I’ve had them for 10 months now. Can I keep
Nipple piercings and breast reduction
Mar 14, 2021
Dear Bailey2328,
It is likely that you may have to remove your piercings prior to surgery and keep them out for at least 1-2 weeks after surgery. The piercings may interfere with the blood supply to the nipple as well as be a potential source of infection. It is likely that you will need them re-pierced after your reduction surgery. Good luck.
What kinda of labs do I need to get my abdominoplasty, liposuction and BBL surgeries?
Preop labs for tummy tuck, bbl and liposuction
Mar 14, 2021
Generally, Preop labs depend on the surgeons’ practice and preference. A covid test and pregnancy test (if indicated) are performed in all of my patients in addition I prefer to obtain a ekg, CBC if over 50 yrs or other specific tests If any medical Comorbidities are present. Every surgeon has their own protocol, however, which might be different. Good luck!
Do I need a BL? I want 450cc. Got told today I have tubular breasts and no lift with implants wil
Breast lift with implants for tuberous breasts
Mar 14, 2021
Dear cheerfulsammie,
As others have mentioned, yes you do have tuberous breasts and the nipple Areola is wider as well as the nipple location is low. While the implants will add the volume, a lift will be necessary to decrease the diameter of the areola as well as relocate the nipple position. It will have a much better aesthetic result than just adding an implant. Good luck!
