Between all of the injectables: Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, do any of them cause less bruising?
Practitioner not Product
Jan 29, 2017
Great question. Regarding bruising, most of the time it is the technique and experience of the practitioner as well as patient factors such as blood thinners or alcohol use. Not the product itself. Be sure to avoid blood thinners and alcohol prior to receiving injectables as well as visit a provider who is well trained.
What to ask a doctor about Botox?
Botox Questions
Jul 22, 2015
There are two main issues to discuss before undergoing any injectable product, both deal with your safety, and your optimal cosmetic result. The actual product being used, and the person doing the injecting. There are several products on the market that contain botulinum toxin (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) each have different dilution requirements/guidelines. The products themselves are slightly confusing in that saying “Botox” when discussing injectable botulinum toxin is like saying…
Dissolve Juvederm at home? I’m willing to take the loss in $. It is that bad & I do not trust
Don’t trust home remedies
Jul 10, 2015
JLynn, thank you for your question. I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience with your original injector/your results. There are no home remedies that “dissolve” Juvederm or any other hyaluronic acid (HA) product. Unfortunately I’ve heard this myth many times, specifically regarding Stevia. So let me repeat, there is nothing you can place topically that will “dissolve” an HA. Misplaced or overly placed Juvederm can be treated with injectable hyaluronidase. You should only go to a very…
Does Botox work on saggy breasts?
Botox cannot be used to lift breasts
Jul 10, 2015
Thanks for the question. Botox is an injectable toxin that’s injected into muscles to relax/paralyze them. Botox has many uses but is not used to lift breasts. Only surgery can be used to lift/reduce breast tissue. If you are truly having medical issues such as back and neck pain a breast reduction may be able to be performed. In general you should let your breasts fully develop before deciding to undergo any type of surgery.
I had botox treatment. Are the dents in my forehead temporary?
What areas were treated?
Jun 22, 2015
Marieke, Thank you for your question. I agree with the other physicians in that without a picture, it’s hard to discern what exactly is going on. The main question I would ask is this: What area of your face was treated? Sometimes after treatment of the Frontalis only (forehead horizontal lines) the Glabellar muscles (muscles in between your eyebrows) can become accentuated if those were not treated with Botox. These muscles cause the “11’s” when you “look mad.” The two sets of muscles…
How many treatments of Botox for permanent result?
Permanent Results

Sarah,Thank you very much for your question. There might be a very slight level of muscle atrophy after prolonged disuse of the muscle, but in general, once the toxin wears off, the muscle will regain strength. You’re best bet is to gauge how long it takes for the toxin to typically wear off for you and get established with an injector for a regular maintenance plan. Great question!Dr. P
I had a lipoma removed from under my left arm a week ago & now my left hand is numb. What can
Possible nerve injury
May 14, 2015
Without pictures it is slightly difficult to assess where your lipoma was and if there is a possibility of a nerve injury that occurred during surgery. With hand numbness I think it is very important to go see your surgeon as soon as possible. Luckily most paresthesias/numbness subside over time without long term effects. Thanks for the question!
