How much cost 1 vial of asclera?
$300 per vial
Nov 3, 2018
My practice charges $300 per vial of Asclera, which is plenty of medicine to treat numerous veins on both legs. We do as many as we can (or as many are desired) with that vial, and I ask patients to return another day for a second session if there are more veins to treat or if certain veins don’t clear. The risk of adverse reactions (including an allergic reaction) is thought to be higher if you use more than one vial in a single session.
Is it safe to use Retin-a .05% at night after cleansing, and then not wash off again until the next
Yes, if your skin feels best that way!
Nov 3, 2018
The retinoid cream doesn’t offer any added benefit wearing it for 24 hours (vs a few hours overnight), but it shouldn’t hurt you to leave it on if that’s what makes your skin feel best. But if dryness is what’s bothering you, washing with a mild, nondedicated cleanser in the morning may offer an opportunity for a soothing moisturizer to penetrate and work a little better (moisturizer always works best right after cleansing, when skin is warm and patted dry)…
I need help in regards to what order my face stuff should be applied in.
Lightest textures first!
Jun 3, 2018
Great questions! As a dermatologist and former magazine beauty editor, I would say that you could definitely simplify your skincare routine without compromising skin health and radiance. First thing to consider scrapping would be the toner – very few dermatologists recommend toners at all, except perhaps for the oiliest skin types. But in general, after gentle cleansing, it’s nice to apply the most active and proven ingredients FIRST (that would be vitamin…
1 week Post Op-Need help after BBL IPL. My beloved childhood freckles are gone.
BBL does reduce freckles and sun spots and evens out skin tone
Jun 3, 2018
IPL / BBL (basically synonymous terms) reduces or erases sun spots and freckles – that’s why many people choose to undergo this treatment. It evens out the skin tone. But the risks of hypo- or hyperpigmentation, volume loss or textural problems are very low when IPL is done appropriately. I recommend that everyone go to a board-certified dermatology or plastic surgery office for this and any other light or laser treatment.
What is the expiration date after asclera is opened?
One-time use only
Jun 3, 2018
Asclera comes in little 2mL glass vials that have to be snapped / broken open at the top. So they can’t be saved for another day once you’ve opened them. My patients and I search for every last tiny vein to inject so that they can get the most out of each Asclera vial! 🙂
Viviscal vs Nutrafol for thinning hair?
These new supplements are catching the attention of dermatologists
Jun 3, 2018
Viviscal and Nutrafol are catching the attention of dermatologists and other docs who treat hair loss, because each of these supplements is now backed by research published in peer-reviewed medical journals. (Not just marketing studies!) They haven’t been tested head-to-head to see which may be most beneficial, but here are some things to consider: 1) These supplements are thought to be most helpful in male or female pattern hair loss (the genetic type called…
Can Spironolactone become ineffective if you have taken it before, stopped, and started again?
Spironolactone doesn’t “stop working” in the same way antibiotics sometimes do
Jun 3, 2018
Such great questions! Thankfully, the body doesn’t become resistant to spironolactone (like it can with antibiotics in some cases). You may just need to make tweaks with your regimen to get the improvements you are looking for. Consider: 1) Restarting one of the birth control pills (such as Yaz) that is FDA approved for acne, if that works with your life right now, 2) whether your current form of birth control might be worsening your acne…
