I am looking for a Cleft Lip and Palate doctor for a toddler.
Cleft surgeons
Jan 17, 2016
I am sorry to hear you bad experience with the previous surgeon you meet. What is important for your son is not only a good board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in cleft but also a solid Cleft Team where he will be able to follow through from youth through adulthood.Since you are from the Maryland area- there is the Johns Hopkins team as well as multiple others in the DC area.Look at the surgeons’a credential but also at the Team. Hope this helps
How could you fix my upper lip? I had a cleft lip and palate surgery.
Cleft lip
Jan 16, 2016
Thanks for asking this question. Cleary you had a repair as a young child and are now looking for potential improvements. The pictures that you sent is not of diagnostic quality, nevertheless I do see multiple potential for improvement. The cleft side of the lip appears to be short and thin. Furthermore I do see significant assymetrie at the base of the nose. The latter can be corrected relatively easily by a board certified plastic surgeon active within a…
what is the next surgery for my cleft lip and palate?
Cleft lip and palate
Nov 8, 2015
Thank you for your question.it appears to me that you need a comprehensive evaluation by a plastic surgeon with additional qualification in craniofacial surgery.Clearly difficult to make a treatment plan without examining you. Typically, orthodontic alignment of you teeth will precede surgery. The alveolar bone graft will be done first, followed by the corrective jaw surgery. In certain situations, they both can be performed at the same time, good luck
Is pain under cheek implant 6 weeks after surgery, normal?
Pain after malar implant
Aug 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. I would consider it unusual to have pain 6 weeks after placement of malar implant. You are surely doing the right thing by following up with your surgeon.Hopefully this will resolve uneventfully for you.Good luck!
Open hole a T incision in breast. Could I go ahead and take out stitches now to start c
Wound dehiscence
Jul 12, 2015
I would not that a wound dehiscence at this location is common. It is not unusual but sure not common.i am not quite sure it is a good idea for you to remove sutures and initiate local wound care without appropriate supervision. A small opening may hide a much larger area opening underneath the skin.i would recommend you see a local plastic surgeon soon to make sure you take the appropriate measures.Good luck
Radiation therapy last year on 7 yr old saline implants. Now RB tight and uneven?
Radiation therapy and implant
May 31, 2015
Unhappy,it seems you may be developing capsular contracture. This is a well recognized complication of breast implants especially in the setting of radiation therapy.I would recommend you get a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in implant based and auto genius reconstruction.Good luck!
Dental work after mommy makeover
Misfortune
May 17, 2015
I am sorry to hear about your misfortune. If indeed the tooth is not salvageable, I would get it extracted prior to your mommy make over. That would insure your are confortable and free of potential infection. Then proceed with your plastic surgery. If you decide to have a bridge fabricated or to get a dental implant soon after your surgery and you underwent breast implant placement, I surely would recommend prophylactic antibiotic.Good luck.
