The current recommendations for
breast cancer screening in potential breast augmentation patients are that
patients without a personal history of breast cancer or other type of breast
pathology undergo mammography if they are 35 years of age or older. Patients
with a strong family history of breast cancer or previous abnormal self-breast
exams or mammograms in the past would benefit from pre-operative breast cancer
screening if older than 25 years of age.
