Is it safe to have an arm lift, thigh lift, and labiaplasty at once? should I consider multiple ses
Combined Surgery
Oct 27, 2022
Hi Sara,

These are probably ok to do together, but getting arms and legs done together can be hard in recovery for a few days. You should see a surgeon with expertise and experience. Not all plastic surgeons do these procedures regularly. I suggest either Dr Justine O'Hara or Dr Kelly Thornbury at Pure Aesthetics in Sydney CBD. All the best, Dr Steve Merten

Will a lower body lift fix the top above my belly button or will I need an FDL to address this? (ph
Lower body lift vs FDL abdominoplasty
Aug 14, 2019
Hi, part of your decision should be what you need around the sides and buttock area. A lower body lift will address these areas, whereas an abdominoplasty (even with the vertical FDL excision) will not.I usually do a lower body lift, which usually does allow adequate tightening of the upper abdomen and improves the lateral abdomen, lateral upper thighs and buttocks. If there is still some upper abdominal looseness, a later vertical excision can always be done, but is rarely necessary....
Is it possible to just raise the nipples without a breast lift?
Nipple Lifting
May 13, 2019
Unfortunately there is no way to raise the nipples without removing skin above them, although placing a breast implant can do this if your breasts aren't too droopy. If it is only a small amount of lift needed, then a half-circle scar around the upper border of the areolar may be enough. If more lift is required, a full-circle may be needed. These scars usually heal very well. Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney
Is fluid/seroma around textured implants a concern for BIA ALCL?
Seroma (fluid) around breast implants
Dec 15, 2018
Hi,Firstly you should understand that ALCL is a very rare condition and although it usually presents as swelling with fluid around implants, most patients with this will NOT have ALCL. It also is very unlikely in 2 year old implants. We believe it is a condition that takes years to develop. 10 ml of fluid around implants is not likely of any concern. That is not much and is probably considered normal. If you feel hardness and there is a fold on MRI, the likely problem is capsular ...
What are the chances of me getting necrosis on the nipples/areolas after a breast lift with no impl
Nipple necrosis after breast lift
Nov 10, 2018
This is a very rare complication, however smoking is the biggest risk factor. This is not an operation I ever perform on a smoker. I have never had this complication, however some techniques and perhaps breast size may be relevant. A suitably qualified and experienced PS should be able to advise you as to your risk. Good luck,Dr Steve Merten, Sydney
