Restylane Silk is an excellent product to use for lip lines when you do not want to add additional volume to your lips. Lips tend to swell when "injured" so your reaction is very normal! Using ice is the easiest and most common way to reduce the swelling. Be patient, apply ice, and communicate with your doctor if the swelling is not resolving within 48 - 72 hours. Good luck!

You have asked a very good question AND you have made a VERY good point!
I often see women interested in treating lines under and around their eyes for whom Botox can make a tremendous improvement. As you so astutely pointed out, your lines/creases are present at rest - often a sign that muscle action is NOT totally responsible and thus less likely to be resolved with Botox.

There are many factors that go into making someone look like they are aging. Loss of volume, skin texture, facial lines are some of these factors. Several of the previous contributors have nicely addressed restoring volume. Your skin itself does not look to be aging excessively fast. You can continue to maintain your youthful skin in several key ways.

It sounds like you have had good results with Botox in the past but that this time you are not experiencing the same positive results. Perhaps you can speak to your injector about using Dysport or Xeomin for a change. Some people find that one may work better for them than another.
