Is 400cc an appropriate size?
400cc implants

Hi
It’s common practice to insert an implant that is slightly narrower than the outer breast measurement. The Mentor moderate plus anatomical implants which are in the 400cc range are around 13cm wide, so wider than your breasts. Putting these implants in may cause the breasts to come unnaturally close together in the centre or out to the sides. Like you say, an in person assessment would give you a better idea of what would work best

Autoimmune disease and breast implants

Hi,
It is possible for patients with autoimmune conditions to have breast implants. It is thought that a rare condition called Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL) might be linked to patients with autoimmune conditions. ALCL to date has only been reported in patients who have received textured breast implants, not smooth. Therefore if you were going ahead with surgery it might be best to discuss a smooth implant with your surgeon.
Hope that helps!

I have a breast augmentation booked. Will my procedure show up on Medicare records?
Medicare query

Hi,
If your surgery is purely cosmetic and Medicare isn’t being billed for any part of your treatment it shouldn’t show up on your Medicare record.
Hope this helps!

Do I have capsular contracture?!
Capsule contracture

Oct 11, 2021
Hi,
I think its unlikely you have capsular contracture 10 weeks after surgery. It’s common for the breasts to feel firm initially and then gradually settle over the first 6 months. It would be more likely to have capsular contracture on one side rather than both sides. It also looks like you have reasonably large implants compared to your frame, so everything is likely to be under more tension, which can take longer to settle.
Hope that helps!

Do I have tuberous breasts and what would be involved in fixing them?
Tuberous or not?

Hi,
Looking at your photos, I don’t think you do have tuberous breasts. The nipple areolar complex doesn’t look herniated from the breast, nor do you appear to have a significant shortage of skin in the lower pole of the breasts. If only aiming for a very moderate increase in size I believe a small implant alone would achieve your goals. It would be better if you saw a plastic surgeon in person however.
Hope that helps!

Can my breasts be fixed without a lift?
Breast surgery without a lift

Hi,
Looking at your photos, it doesn’t appear that you definitely need a lift – your nipple looks well above the fold on both sides, which can be a guide whether a lift is necessary. You have good pre-existing shape – an augmentation under the muscle seems appropriate. A 3D scan of your breasts can be used to evaluate the volume difference between the two sides and help decide whether different sized implants are used.
Hope that helps!

Lower BMI & Breast Augmentation?
Augmentation in low BMI patients

Hi,
Breast augmentation is certainly possible in lower BMI patients. The question is how well the implant would be covered with thin overlying tissue. Placing the implant beneath the muscle is probably a better option as it will give more coverage of the implant. Placing the implant above the muscle in thin patients has the risk of not giving a natural result as the implant is more visible. A smaller implant is a better choice if trying to achieve a more natural result, as is the choice of…
