41 this year, thinking about filler to smooth away the wrinkle in between my eyebrows, maybe mouth.
treating frown and smile lines
May 16, 2018
Hello!
I like to start with Botox or Dysport when treating lines between the eyebrows. I usually bring my first-time Botox patients back after 2 weeks to see how things are looking, then we can add a tiny bit of filler if necessary…often times, even if filler is needed, we rarely need to repeat it as long as we are keeping up with the Botox! A soft hyaluronic acid filler, such as Juvaderm, is what I would choose to soften the lines around your mouth. I think you would love the…
Would facial fillers help my jaw become symmetrical?
asymmetric jawline
May 16, 2018
Hi there! If your examination in person showed a more active masseter muscle on the fuller side, I would definitely start by relaxing that overactive muscle with Botox. Given your photos and your description, I think that is likely the case. I use Botox in my own masseter muscles to treat grinding and it has resulted in a less bulky appearance in my jawline as well.

Good luck!

Would 1/2ml of filler (in my top lip only) be enough to balance the proportion of my lips?
enhancing the upper lip
May 16, 2018
Absolutely! I would choose either Juvaderm or Volbella, based on the picture you shared…both would give a soft, natural-looking enhancement.

Best wishes!

Fillers for cheeks and even face
Better Facial Balance with Filler
May 15, 2018
Hello! I think that filler would be a very nice way to start giving your face the balance that you desire. Voluma would be a nice choice, because it is strong enough to lift the cheek and enhance the chin, is long-lasting, and can be dissolved if needed. I also agree with your plan to address the lower jaw…if not with an orthodontist, then perhaps with a facial plastic surgeon or oral-maxillofacial surgeon.

Good Luck!

Can laser remove my under eye veins? Which type of laser is best?
Treating vessels near the eye
Apr 30, 2018
Hello!

We treat vessels around the eye with the vascular (1064) laser. By inserting intraocular eye shields, we can get very close to the lash line, while ensuring that the eye is completely protected. I have had this procedure done myself and it was very effective! And you are correct about fillers. They may not make vessels less visible, as they are generally placed beneath the surface vessels. Occasionally, under eye filler will make the vessels a little…

What laser is best to address small rosacea areas on the end of the nose?
Best treatment for rosacea and visible vessels
Apr 30, 2018
Hello!
I like to approach rosacea patients with visible vessels by treating the trouble areas with 2 modalities…BBL and vascular laser. The BBL is excellent at improving generalized redness caused by tiny vessels in the epidermis. The vascular laser is a very helpful addition for treating larger vessels. Patients may require 2 to 3 combination treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart for optimal results.

Best of luck!
Dr. Ann

I’m 41 and want to look less tired and grumpy. Advice?
Alleviating the grumpy, tired look
Apr 24, 2018
Hello! I think that most of the issues I see in your picture are related to loss of fat in the face…Sculptra would be an excellent choice for filling out the hollowness in a very natural way…it may take 3 or 4 vials over the course of 6 months to a year, but I am able to maintain my patients’ correction with just 1 vial every 8-10 months after the initial load. In addition, a little more filler in the tear trough area and in the cheek just beneath that with Voluma should…
