Fillers
Jun 11, 2018
Lips can be made more symmetric or fuller with hyaluronic acid products. With evaluation, the choice of filler can best be determined. I would likely go with Restylane Silk.
How Long Are Most People on Accutane?
time on accutane
Nov 30, 2017
Typical treatment course is 5-6 months. If your dosing needs to be lowered due to side effects or your comfort, that treatment time could be extended. Total cumulative dose is important for optimum outcomes.
Am I likely to see improvements on 10mg Accutane daily within the first 2-3 months?
Low dose accutane
Nov 30, 2017
10 mg daily accutane is a very low dose. With standard dosing, improvement is usually seen towards the end of the second month. For optimum results, the total cumulative dose is important, so more months of treatment are required for people on lower doses. It is important to follow up monthly with your Dermatologist to monitor for any side effects and/or needs to adjust your dose.
Is my Acne Severe Enough to Take Accutane?
persistant acne
Nov 30, 2017
Oral antibiotics do take time to see the full effect. I recommend 2 months before changing treatment. If your acne can not be controlled with the oral and/or topical treatments, you and your Dermatologist can consider if you are a good candidate for Accutane.
Breast augmentation on Accutane?
Accutane and healing time
Nov 30, 2017
I don’t recommend any procedures or laser treatments while on Accutane because healing can be impaired. For an elective surgery such as breast augmentation, I would recommending waiting many months after you have completed your accutane course so as to maximize your healing results.
What works best for forehead wrinkles?
Botox over the years
Sep 18, 2017
I recommend Botox/Dysport for your forehead lines. I have noticed that over years of relaxing or not using these muscles, the lines soften and you will eventually need less Botox/Dysport (either in the amount of units, or frequency of treatments).
How can I avoid Botox Side Effects?
Board Certified
Sep 1, 2017
To minimize your risks, it’s always best to go to someone who has been formally trained to do the procedure of interest. As a board certified dermatologist, I began training to use Botox from my very first year in residency. The “droopy eyelid” problem can best be avoided with proper evaluation to see if you have heavy lids naturally or not, and proper placement of the Botox so it is not too low on the forehead.
