This is a very common question during most tummy tuck consults. The answer would depend on if your surgeon used drains or not. Drains can help collect the fluid that naturally builds up after skin excision and liposuction. They would typically be removed after 1-2 weeks. I would suggest consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Most patients are able to return to light duty work after 2-3 weeks.

Ensure that you are no longer taking any narcotic pain medications before driving or starting back to work. I would recommend working half days at first until you begin to feel back to normal.
