Choosing Breast Implant Final Size
I think you have done a wonderful job by narrowing down your implant selection to 375-400.
The reality is that no one will be able to judge the difference between 375 and 400.
When these sizing issues become stressful, it means that we are missing the forest for the trees.
I would leave the final size determination up to your surgeon, as they will frequently use sizers during surgery to best assess your final result.
Regardless, you will be happy with either choice, as the volume difference will be difficult to tell once placed under your tissues. (Paul S. Gill, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Breast Augmentation using breast implant sizes pictures
There is no way to guarantee a certain cup size. The best way to decide on an implant is to see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area and have them identify implants that would fit your body. Also, Try to look Breast Implant Sizes Pictures. Then you can place them under your bra and look in a mirror. Pick one that looks good to you – don’t get weighed down thinking about bra sizing. Implant size choice with breast implant sizes pictures
Selection of the implant size is one of the most anxiety provoking aspects of breast augmentation. There are many implants to choose from, and many women and surgeons make the mistake of using volume or cc’s as the primary focus of their selection. In my experience, a more 3 dimensional approach will give a more natural and predictable result. The first measurement that needs to be taken is the base width of your breast. The implant selected should match the footprint of your breast to avoid a gap between the breasts. The projection could then be selected based on how full you wish to look. In this way, the volume can be backed into. Based on your desire to look full, I would suggest a moderate plus profile implant. You can then determine which one based on your breast width. Your plastic surgeon and breast implant sizes pictures can help you with this selection. (Jeffrey Rockmore, MD, Albany Plastic Surgeon)
Size of implants
It sounds like either implant would give you a nice result. 375/400cc is the most common size range for implants I place. The difference is about a large tablespoon.
I would say Mod Plus and 375 would likely put you in a C cup range. (Mahlon Kerr, MD, FACS, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
Implant Sizing
First of all, a full C is different depending on who is measuring you, and everyone has their own opinion of what an actual breast cup size is. Also, 25cc will not create a very noticeable difference in appearance of breast. Trying on sizers is an exercise used to help the surgeon figure out your goals post-operatively.
The sizers are not an exact indicator of what your breast will look like after surgery, as they are shaped differently than the actual implant and are sitting on top of your chest rather than placed under the muscle. The best advice for you would be to direct these questions to the surgeon performing your procedure and make sure he understands your goals you would like to achieve from your breast augmentation. (Peter J. Capizzi, MD, Charlotte Plastic Surgeon)
Pre-operative implant sizing: how to get the right size?
There is no absolute way to predict the perfect size for each person. In general, a narrow chest will add a cup size for every 150-200 ccs, a moderate width 175-225, and a wide chest about 200-250 ccs of volume.
Most patients choose a final volume between 350 and 500 ccs. Implants come in approximately 30-50 ccs increments, ie 390 or 420 ccs. 30 cc is nearly 1 ounce ie 1/8th of a cup in a measuring cup. This amount spread over the entire breast is very small. Most that want a change in size after initial augmentation usually change by adding 150-200cc, or occasionally decreasing by that amount. The most important aspect of sizing is to narrow down the range of implants to a size that looks good for you.
To do this we use a combination of sizing techniques including a computer simulation of your chest, and using specifically shaped implants to mold to your chest. With these we hope to narrow your desired range of implants to get a high degree of satisfaction with the size you choose.By finding a good implant range for you, we hope to decrease the 30% of patients that have another implant surgery to change their undesired size down to 5-10%. Hopefully, this is an added value we can provide our patients. (Scott Haupt, MD, Salt Lake City Plastic Surgeon)
3D Vectra imaging may help
Sizing is probably the most difficult decision during a consultation. Patients typically agonize about that decision. We try to help them with sizers, allowing them to come multiple times before surgery to make sure they like chosen size.
The latest edition to our armamentarium is Vectra 3D imaging system – it is really helpful in decision making process see video and link below . By thew way 375 and 400 are almost identical implants in real world so you cannot go wrong with either (Gregory Turowski, MD, PhD, FACS, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
Which Implant Size is Best?
It seems as though you have prepared very well for this decision. Depending on the implant manufacturer, the implant sizes you have chose may or may not have real differences in projection. It sounds like 375 would be about the best size for you.
Many plastic surgeons have sizers in the OR that they can use to determine which of your 2 choices looks the very best. This way he/she can determine which of them looks the absolute best. Either way, you’re gonna love them! (Dustin L. Reid, MD, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
Small Difference in Implant Size Will Not Show in the Final Result
You are worrying about very small differences that in the end will not make any difference in your result. The “shape” of the implants when you “try them on” doesn’t matter. This is only an exercise for you to see the approximate size and how it fits on your figure.
The final shape will be determined by your surgeon and how he places the implants. In our practice, we sometimes show our patients a 3-dimensional simulation of how the implant will look on their body. (Parham Ganchi, PhD, MD, Wayne Plastic Surgeon)
In general, I like to measure the diameter of the chest wall to determine the maximum size of the implant. I don’t believe you could tell what an implant will look like under a muscle by wearing it in your bra in your consultation. The 25 cc difference is so little it will hardly be a game changer. My preference for most women is a moderate shape implant in a subpectoral pocket.A 350 cc implant should get you in the C range but if you think it is too small and 400 is too big, than 375 may be just right. This is not an exact science. There are no computer models that will correctly choose the the right implant for all individuals. Trust your surgeon. Your surgeon may be able to use sizers in the operating room to better select the right implant. (George C. Peck, Jr, MD, West Orange Plastic Surgeon)
A 25cc difference is very minimal.
It sounds like you are wise to split the difference between the too-large and too-small implants at 375cc. Also, while you liked the projection of the 400cc implants, remember that the actual results will look different after surgery. Definitely talk over your preferences with your doctor. If more projection is something you want, then a moderate plus or even a high profile 375cc implant may be best for achieving the look you like without that top-heavy feeling.
A moderate implant is more subtle and, although it will enhance your cleavage, the projection is definitely not as dramatic, so this is another thing to keep in mind when making your final choice. (Jeremy Pyle, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)
Choosing the right Size c breast implants
Based on your height, weight, & bra size now. your body type will definitely carry a 375cc moderate plus implants perfectly without looking “top heavy”. Considering that you already have some breast tissue & your not completely an A cup, a 375cc implant will give you the full C breast size you are looking for. (Mel T. Ortega, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
How to choose the right breast implant size?
The implant size is an important point for many patients asking for breast augmentation, but in reality the decision should be make based on your chest wall dimensions, your skin and soft tissue quality. These measurements and evaluations are necessary to determine what size works for you, both in short term and log term.
This evaluation also determine what kind of implant to use, saline, silicone or a form-stable implant. I usually go through this with the patients and then give them a safe range to choose from. You have to bear in mind that long term stability of the results are the more important thing to consider when undergoing a breast augmentation. (Farhad Rafizadeh, MD, Morristown Plastic Surgeon)
375 or 400 cc breast implants will work for you.
Your plastic surgeon can help you decide on breast implant size by taking biometric measurements of your breast and chest wall and based on these measurements and optimal implant size for your body can be determined. However your choice of size based on using the breast implant sizing system and placing various sizes into your bra must also be taken into account.
Moderate plus breast implants look more natural than a high profile implants. In the end I would follow your plastic surgeons recommendations. (Brooke R. Seckel, MD, FACS, Boston Plastic Surgeon)
Size c breast implants
Kudos to you for being so thoughtful and thorough. In short, I do not think that you will go wrong with either size. The difference between the two implants is minimal and barely noticeable. If you are truly on the fence I always recommend going bigger since post-operatively many women look back and wish they had in fact gone bigger. (Christopher J. Davidson, MD, FACS, Boston Plastic Surgeon)
