How soon after dissolving lip filler can you refill?
Dissolving filler
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thanks for your question! It is best to wait 2 weeks after dissolving filler because you want to give time to see a final result before filling again. The face always swells with any injection, and waiting 2 weeks is a safe amount of time to have a stable starting point for refilling. Best of luck!
Would you call this a botched lip job?
Lip filler
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thanks for your question! Only you can say if you are happy with your result or not. It’s hard to say from the pictures, but there may be some uneven areas or even over-filling. If you are unhappy you can have them dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks up hyaluronic acid fillers. It may take several times of injecting that enzyme to get you where you want to be. Best of luck!
Allergic reaction to fillers. If I am allergic to one brand, would I be allergic to all?
Lip filler and Blisters
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thanks for your question. It’s still possible that you had a cold sore even with a negative culture. An allergy to the filler is also a possibility. In that case, you can dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase, use steroids as you did, and benardryl. If you had an allergy, I would find a provider who can do testing or spot testing to see if another brand may work better for you. Best of luck!
Which brand of lip filler is best?
Lip Filler brands
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thanks for your question! There are so many brands it’s difficult to know which one is best! For shorter lasting fillers, you can use Belotero (lasts a few months), but it is too thin in my opinion for the lips. Other short lasting fillers like Restylane-L or Restylane Silk are great for lips and last less than a year. They generally give you a softer lip enhancement. If you want something more robust or voluptuous you can use Juvederm Ultra/ Ultra plus, but that may last longer. In…

Filler Migration?
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thank you for your question. I’m sorry that you’re having a hard time with this. It is possible that lip filler stays longer than 1 year and even migrates that far after the procedure. I have seen hyaluronidase (an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic filler) work well in those situations. Sometimes you need multiple treatments with hyaluronidase injections. An alternative is that in 3 years your face has changed and new lines are forming, which is a perfectly normal aging process. In…
What’s wrong with my lip? I had hyaluronic acid filler 1 year ago
Lip Filler
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thank you for your question!
It is difficult to tell by a picture alone, but it is unlikely that a filler placed 1 year ago will give you swelling of your lips like that. (Skin necrosis by the way, happens immediately after injecting lip filler, so no need to worry about that). It is more likely you are having an allergic reaction to something that you ate or touched your lips. If it happens again, I would consult a physician who specialized in allergy and immunology. I have seen…
Has my lip filler migrated?
Filler Migration
Jun 11, 2023
Hi and thank you for your question!
It’s generally difficult to tell by a picture, but it is definitely possible there could be filler migration. If that is the case, a provider can dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid based fillers (most fillers today on the market). It’s also possible it is just residual swelling from the filler, which can improve after a few weeks from the time of injection. If it bothers you past that time, then I would…
