Doctor George Volpe, MD, Boston, Massachusetts Starting With An A Cup Photo
This woman underwent augmentation with 380 mL implants to achieve a 2 cup increase in volume. A common issue when one starts with very small breasts is a short distance from the nipple to the fold the breast. In this scenario we must lower the fold slightly to allow for proper placement of the implant. I favor using an incision along the lower border of the areola or in the fold beneath the breast as these two incisions allow for the delicate maneuvering that lowering the fold requires. I tried to avoid the armpit incision for this reason. (Nov 20, 2014)
