He then received specialized training in plastic and cosmetic surgery at the University of Alabama Birmingham, followed by facial plastic surgery and craniofacial plastic surgery training at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia. He is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Outside of caring for patients at his boutique practice, Dr. Windle contributes to professional publications such as the Annals of Plastic Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
