Pixie ear deformity is a typical finding of the earlobe that results after a facelift. This occurs because of tension at the base of the earlobe that pulls it forward and down. Certain types of earlobes and certain types are facelift techniques will see this more commonly. When this occurs after a face / neck lift, many patients want to have this improved. The case below shows an example of a pixie ear deformity after a facelift and the correction of the earlobe afterwards. Her earlobe was changed from a “pulled” attached earlobe to an unattached earlobe that is in aesthetic balance with the rest of her ear. This correction can be done in the office under local anesthesia.
