Although it is possible for this surgery to be undertaken under local anaesthetic and sedation, my preference would be general anaesthesia for several reasons.
1 Your airway is controlled
2 Your blood pressure is more controllable
3 I do not require patients to assist me during the surgery(!) and you are far less likely to move or react under general anaesthetic compared to sedation
