Conservative management such as physiotherapy are good to help strengthen the core/abdominal muscles. However, there are limitations with the results you can achieve with these methods alone. Surgery is your best option to tighten the abdominal muscles and to repair the umbilical hernia. In fact, only surgical intervention would correct the umbilical hernia. It would be best to consult a board certified plastic surgeon.
