Doctors
“I’m passionate about real, life-enhancing results for our clients,” he says.
Dr. Sivarajan received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh. He later completed his training at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit. During his time as an NHS plastic surgeon, Dr. Sivarajan developed a wealth of experience in breast reconstruction, skin cancer, and laser surgery.
Mr. Sivarajan is currently on the GMC Specialist Register as a Plastic Surgeon.
For the previous 18 years (since 2003) his dedication has seen him complete a fellowship within Head and Neck Surgery. Gaining skills to perform surgery on the face, eyelids, ears, and nose. A further fellowship studying all aspects of skin cancer. This includes Mohs’ surgery which can also be added to Richards repertoire of expert surgical interventions.
Most recently, Richard’s skills have seen him carrying out breast reshaping and reconstruction. As a result, Mr Clark can be found on the GMC Specialist Register as a Plastic Surgeon.
A little background information as you get to know Richard
Richard attended Glasgow University and graduated in 1998. Following the necessary basic surgical training he then began his career in plastic surgery. Most of this being undertaken at Canniesburn NHS Hospital in Glasgow.
Canniesburn Hospital, prior to it’s move to Glasgow Royal, was the hub of the West of Scotland Regional service and all major plastic surgery was centralised there. A training place like no other.
By 2004, Richard began a research degree in skin cancer. This led to the MD Research Degree Award. Further supported by the publication of several scientific papers.
In 2007. Richard was appointed to the Pan-Scotland Plastic Surgery training scheme. As an active member he spent time in Dundee, Belgium, Detroit, and Norwich developing specialist skills in breast surgery, cosmetic surgery, and skin cancer surgery.
His continual rise to success found him awarded the highly sought-after Training Interface group fellowships in 2013.
NHS
In 2014, Richard undertook the position of Consultant Plastic Surgeon within NHS Forth Valley. He is responsible for breast reconstruction surgery. A service for which he was instrumental in developing and setting up. His NHS consultant role also see him carrying out skin cancer surgeries. He is one of very few plastic surgeons trained in oncoplastic breast surgery. Integral to all breast cancer surgeries. Greatly enhancing the range of options that can be offered to women with breast cancer and facilitates better outcomes from it.
Furthermore, he is one of very few surgeons whose skills extend to Mohs’ surgery. A microscopically controlled surgery used to treat common types of skin cancer.

Neither home nor salon/clinic IPL machines are successful at ‘real’ long lasting hair removal. The IPL energy doesn’t penetrate the skin deep enough to damage the hair growing cells. Laser based systems in comparison will give 80-89% reduction in hair density which…

Further CO2 laser treatment is probably your best treatment to improve skin texture, however, I would recommend a more powerful CO2 laser, either the CORE or Ultrapulse laser systems may give you more improvement.

With breast reduction it is possible to reduce the breast size hugely, however a certain amount of breast tissue must be kept to keep the nipples alive. This amount generally gets bigger with the initial size of the breasts, so it may not be possible to get you all the way down to A/B. However, this depends on the measurements taken at your consultation with a surgeon. Also, you may require a technique called a free nipple graft. in which case it is more…

It is difficult to tell from the photos and measurement whether you definitely would need an uplift. I would be able to tell if i examined you and sometimes there can be options depending upon what you want to achieve. Did you have 3D imaging and modelling carried out? This can help to visualise your results and look at options. I always do this for patients and have carried out hundreds of uplifts with implants.
It might help to ask your surgeon how often he carries out uplifts with…

Thanks for your question,
Generally speaking a free nipple graft is required when the movement of the nipple during a breast reduction is too far to be kept alive by a stalk of breast tissue under the nipple. Whilst there isn’t a definite distance either from the collar bone to the nipple or a distance of how far the nipple will travel a recent study of free nipple graft procedures found that they are generally required when over 1.5kg of breast tissue needs to be removed from each…
