After completing his undergraduate education at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Schaffner obtained his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He then completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Detroit Medical Center at the Wayne State University School of Medicine, followed by an otolaryngology – head and neck surgery residency at Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Dr. Schaffner honed his skills while training in a breast and aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC and an advanced facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship, during which he was a member of the medical staff at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.

Dr. Schaffner is a diplomat of (certified by) the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

It is possible to not need draining after a tummy tuck and/or breast lift. That is a decision to be made by the board certified plastic surgeon at the conclusion of the procedure prior to closure. Progressive tension sutures during a tummy tuck and pillar sutures during a breast lift help minimize the need for a drain or the length of time the drain is needed. Please speak with your surgeon about these suture techniques prior to your surgery.

Based on your photos, it appears that your breast implants are high and have not "dropped" into the desired position. It is possible they will drop over time. To help them drop into position, I recommend that a patient wear a bandeau and perform breast massage on a regular basis as instructed by your board certified plastic surgeon. I am sorry to learn of this complication you experienced after having Juvederm injected under your eyes. I recommend having an injection of hyaluronidase to dissolve any remaining Juvederm. Once this has taken full effect, residual dark circles may be improved with laser treatments. Textured implants are intended to stay where they are placed and not drop over time. I recommend keeping them under the muscle. From your photos, it appears you would be a candidate for a breast lift (mastopexy). I recommend that you wait until your soreness has resolved before proceeding with additional surgery. I believe six months is a reasonable period of time to wait after your breast implant placement before proceeding with a breast lift.
