It takes up to 2 weeks for swelling and bruising to subside, so it’s difficult to assess what the final outcome is at only 5 days post-injection. Furthermore, the skin around the eyes is very thin – about the thickness of an eggshell, so swelling and bruising is typically more pronounced in this region. After 2 weeks, if you are still not satisfied, you can follow up with your practitioner and have them inject hyaluronidase in the area to dissolve the filler.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to completely avoid bruising after cosmetic injections and can occur even with the most experienced injectors. Your practitioner may apply direct manual pressure on an injection site if she/he suspects it will likely bruise, which may help limit the extent of bruising.
